Molly Update

We still have "baby" Molly. She is extremely healthy and her bad leg has totally healed! She has grown up too fast and is almost ready to be released into the wild. Molly grew out of our tank with lighting a few weeks ago. We needed to put her somewhere outside that was safe from animals (including Hunter, our dog). We are just waiting for her wings to totally grow in so she can be able to fly. We knew it would still be a couple of weeks till this happened so Tim decided to build her an outside home. Here is a baby book for Molly. These are a lot of the pictures I have taken through her stages.

When we first got her she could fit in a tiny bowl.

She followed us everywhere when she was little.

                                                             This is her silly face!

So here is Tim's masterpiece. He started with a design in his head and just kept going with it. Her house is 6 feet high and is equipped with a pool and a drainage system so you don't have to clean it by hand.  This is Tim's baby. When we release Molly, we are thinking about getting hens for fresh eggs!! Don't worry..we looked it up and it IS allowed where we live!

Here is Molly today..where has the time gone?! She is in that really awkward duck stage now. She is still trying to be cute but all her big girl duck feathers are showing through.

This is her pool! The small pipe on the side is connected to the pool and another small pipe in the pool drains the pool out when it gets dirty. It then swished the entire thing out cleaning and filling at the same time!

She LOVES the pool! She sits in here all day.

The drainage system from the side view.

That is how our "little" Molly is doing! I will update more when it is time to let her go. I am thinking of releasing her at the lake by my work. A lot of ducks live there, including many Mallards. Hopefully I will be able to see her often and she doesn't fly too far! I'll cry either way!

I hope everyone is off to a great start to summer! I sure am!
