Gettin' Muddy

Last weekend a bunch of our friends participated in the Merrell Down and Dirty Mud Run in Miami. We all woke up at 4:00am to make it for the 7:30am 10k obstacle run at Zoo Miami. Waking up was the hard part, but once the run was completed it was totally worth it. The run consisted of 6 miles of running, topped with 20 military style obstacles, and 2 giant mud pits. I have done a lot of different kinds of runs in the past, but mud runs are officially now my favorite! If you haven't done one yet...do one!

Here we are, up bright and early!

These are my American Heritage School runner girls!

Getting ready to start

There were a lot of people. We had to wait 30 minutes for our heat to start.

The Township Crew.

All made of mud in the background....cool!

Here are some of the girls getting a little dirty.

Wading through the lake. This part was so refreshing because it was brutally hot outside.

My boss and I.

A pyramid of mudders!

We did it! 6 miles and 20 obstacles later!

The whole crew that did the run with us.

Now it's REAL training time! We are all participating in Tough Mudder in February in Miami. This race is a race you can only do with a team. It is a half marathon that consists of 25 military obstacles, designed by the British Special Forces. It is supposed to be one of the toughest races you can do! It includes mud, fire, ice water, obstacles, electricity, and many other crazy things. You should see the waiver we had to sign... chaos! It's time to get tough :)
